Thus says the LORD:
\nHere is my servant whom I uphold,
\nmy chosen one with whom I am pleased,
\nupon whom I have put my spirit;
\nhe shall bring forth justice to the nations,
\nnot crying out, not shouting,
\nnot making his voice heard in the street.
\nA bruised reed he shall not break,
\nand a smoldering wick he shall not quench,
\nuntil he establishes justice on the earth;
\nthe coastlands will wait for his teaching.<\/p>\n

I, the LORD, have called you for the victory of justice,
\nI have grasped you by the hand;
\nI formed you, and set you
\nas a covenant of the people,
\na light for the nations,
\nto open the eyes of the blind,
\nto bring out prisoners from confinement,
\nand from the dungeon, those who live in darkness.<\/p>\n

When the soul is tempest-tossed, troubled and cut off by worries, then is the time to pray, so as to make the soul willing and responsive towards God. But there is no kind of prayer that can make God more responsive to the soul, for God is always constant in love. <\/em><\/p>\n

And so I saw that, whenever we feel the need to pray, our good Lord follows us, helping our desire.<\/em><\/p>\n

And when, by his special grace, we behold him clearly, knowing no other need, then we follow him and he draws us to himself by love. <\/em> — Julian of Norwich\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n
