{"id":2455,"date":"2012-05-31T17:31:07","date_gmt":"2012-06-01T00:31:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tgdarkly.com\/blog\/?p=2455"},"modified":"2012-05-31T17:31:07","modified_gmt":"2012-06-01T00:31:07","slug":"the-gold-in-havilah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/davidopderbeck.com\/tgdarkly\/2012\/05\/31\/the-gold-in-havilah\/","title":{"rendered":"The Gold in Havilah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Gold in Havilah<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m told there&#8217;s gold in Havilah,<br \/>\nthat Stretch of Sand just downstream from Eden,<br \/>\nand good gold at that.<br \/>\nThis makes no sense to me &#8212;<br \/>\nWhat use had Adam for gold,<br \/>\nand why would God have planted it there?<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps God knew this gold would come in handy one day,<br \/>\nto pave His city, His New Jerusalem,<br \/>\nand to make fancy tools for his Angels.<\/p>\n<p>But I might find this ostentatious:<br \/>\nAngels waving golden measuring rods, skating over such refined streets,<br \/>\nshowing off the jeweled crystal walls to house-hunters<br \/>\nfollowing in their fragrant trains (there was onyx and incense in Havilah too, they say!)<\/p>\n<p>Still, I&#8217;ve heard there is a Garden there, as well,<br \/>\nsprings and water, trees and green leaves and cool shade,<br \/>\nmangoes, I suppose, and every kind of medicine plant,<br \/>\nand open gates<br \/>\nand Light.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe when I see it &#8211; Oh, let me see it! &#8211;<br \/>\nI&#8217;ll find a spot among the gum trees and goldenrods<br \/>\nwhere I might sit with Adam a while,<br \/>\nskipping onyx stones across the river,<br \/>\nand wondering about Havilah.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Gold in Havilah I&#8217;m told there&#8217;s gold in Havilah, that Stretch of Sand just downstream from Eden, and good gold at that.
