This looks like a winner.  I&#8217;ve only skimmed a few sections, but here&#8217;s a thought from the section titled &#8220;Enlightenment Idol&#8221;:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The hubris of the Enlightenment lay in thinking that Reason was . . . a transcendent power, providing infallible knowledge.
