Unit 1: Method in Theology and Science

Introduction

How do “Science” and “Theology” relate to each other? What do the words “Science” and “Theology” even mean? Are “Science” and “Theology” at war with each other? This Unit will explore these foundational questions. We will suggest that “Science” and “Theology” are different but overlapping and finally complementary domains of human understanding. As such, the relationship between “Science” and “Theology” is an important subset of the broader complementary relationship between “Reason” and “Faith.”
