My Music — "Glorious"

By day I’m a mild mannered (usually) law professor, on Sundays I’m a rocking guitarist and worship leader. I love writing music and producing songs in my basement digital studio. I’d like to highlight some of my original songs here. This one is called Glorious (click on the link to hear the Mp3 file.) It’s just me, my guitar and my voice. See the extended entry for the lyrics and technical notes, and drop my a note if you like it. Enjoy!

Lord of the harvest and Lord of the rain
Lord of the winter and Lord of the flame of the Sun
burning up in the sky on a clear summer day
Lord of the blue and the green and the grey
Lord of the moon and the Milky Way burning across a dark sky
On a clear summer night

Lord of the rainbow and Lord of the storm
Lord when the wind blows and Lord of the warm golden light on the water
at the end of the day
Lord of the laughter when babies are born
Lord of the silence of old men too tired to pray
calling your name

[chorus] And I will lift my voice
And fall on my knees
For you are glorious
The mountains sing, and the heavens declare your praise
For you are glorious

Lord of the waterfall, Lord of the sea
Lord of the river of life flowing freely to all who are thirsty
Take and drink
Lord of the forest and Lord of the trees
Lord of the mysteries no eye has seen or ear has heard
Lord over me, the Lord who loves me

[chorus]

[bridge] A hundred million miles away
The sun is burning bright
With all the worlds your hands have made
You’re here with me tonight

[chorus]

Tecnical notes: recorded using Sonar, AKG 3000B mic, some compression and reverb added to tracks; Martin DM Acoustic guitar tuned to double drop D.
